She lives on Long Island in New York. She has a 16 year old sister
named Nicole and a 8 year old brother named Robert. She was
diagnosed with WS at the age of 6.
Amanda has ADD and aortic valve stenosis. She is in a self contained
special education class in district. Amanda gets OT, PT, speech,
counseling and adaptive physical education in school.
This year she took a dance class, played special soccer, went to a
Saturday morning recreational program for the disabled, and did
Special Olympics horseback riding. Amanda placed 1st in technique
and 2nd in obstacle course.
Amanda competed at the Empire State games for the Physically
Challenged last month and placed first in the precision throw.
